A spectacular Civil War Parade to commemorate those killed in one of England’s bloodiest conflicts is due to take place this weekend.
Thousands of re-enactors in full costume are expected to arrive in Worcester, some of whom will take part in the parade in the city centre to commemorate those killed in the English Civil War.
Organised by The Battle of Worcester Society in partnership with The Sealed Knot Society, the parade in Worcester will happen on Saturday (August 23).
While over 3,000 members of The Sealed Knot will be encamped at Bennetts Farm just outside Worcester for one of their largest gatherings of the year, around 100 civil war uniformed re-enactors will take to the streets in a public parade and Drumhead Service in the heart of the city, honouring those who lost their lives during the English Civil Wars (1642–1651).
The Parade and Service will take place on Saturday, August 23, following this schedule:
2.50 pm – Parade forms up on Broad Street
3pm – March begins along Broad Street and into the High Street
3.15 pm – Pause outside the Guildhall where the Mayor of Worcester joins the parade
3.30 pm – March continues to Worcester Cathedral
